May, age 79, Richmond, IN, passed away on Tuesday, August 8th 2017 at Golden Living Center. She was born on April 24, 1938 to Paul & Lillian Davis in Longbranch, New Jersey, and had moved to Richmond in 1956 to study nursing. She received her RN in 1959, and had practiced as a registered nurse for 41 years, including time at Reid Hospital and Golden Rule; where she was also the director of nursing for 5 years. She retired from Golden Rule in 2000. She was also a loving homemaker and mother who raised 5 children. She had been a member of First Baptist Church for 3 years. Elizabeth was part of the Boston Homemaker's Club, The Order of the Eastern Star, and the Altrusa organization.Survivors include her husband of 58 years Ted May; children Jeffrey (Vickie) May, Andrew May, Brian (Barbara) May, and Jennifer (Mark) Engle; step daughter Teresa (Jeff) Riley; sister Kathy Cooley; brother Edward Davis; grandchildren Madison May, Hannah May, Benjamin May, Natalie May, Kurt Engle, Maggi Engle, Abby Engle, April (Tony) Rickard, Angela Riley, and Charles (Kristen) Riley; and 4 great grandchildren. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Paul & Lillian Davis.Services for Elizabeth will be held on Tuesday, August 15th 2017 at 11 a.m. in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Jim Spon will officiate.
